Most of us love to sit under sun during winters to take plenty of Vitamin D from sunrays. However, it is well known that direct and regular exposure of the skin to sunrays can cause tanning that means making the skin tone even darker than earlier, but one cannot deny the fact that taking sunbath cures many ailments like deficiency of Vitamin D, which causes scrubby. Therefore, you can say, sunrays have both positive and negative traits. But, in order to engrain all positive traits of sunrays while protecting you from negative traits (suntan) it is important to take some precautions. So, let us tell you what they are:
The first precaution that you should take before sunbath during winters is to apply a good SPF lotion, because sunrays are strong, which can damage the healthy cells of your skin. So, applying a SPF lotion will prevent the skin cells from beneath those harmful sunrays, which makes it darker.
Moreover, it is important to not only concentrate on your face, but also keep a check on those areas of your body, which comes under direct contact with sunrays. For instance, legs, neck, arms are the areas that gets hugely affected by sun tanning. Therefore, it is very essential to apply SPF Lotion on these areas in order to prevent sun tanning. However, SPF lotion does not work more than 2-3 hours that means you should take other prevention to avoid suntan. Nevertheless, if you do not have any other option then, you can apply SPF after every 2-3 hours and can cover the exposed areas while wearing full-length shirts, and trousers.
However, if you already have tanned skin, then further direct exposure to the sunrays can cause permanent tan to your skin while giving serious health problem like cancer. Therefore, there is a diehard need for those people who have already tanned skin to take some serious precaution in order to avoid serious health problems. It is advisable that an affected person should always move outside while covering already tanned areas of his/her body, moreover regularly, applying a mixture of almond oil, sandalwood oil, coconut oil greatly helps to remove tanning. In addition, you can also apply a paste of turmeric, barley and yoghurt on the affected area or can try Aloe Vera gel that has healing properties to eradicate suntan.
Apart from this, many people forget to protect their eyes from harmful UV rays of the sun that directly affects the retina. Therefore, to protect your eye from harmful sun exposure it is important to wear eyeglasses.
